I’m Irina Fawcett and I’m an Interactive Design senior at Maryville University. I have created this blog to document my process and share my journey through my Interactive Design Capstone project. But what is a capstone? A capstone course acts as the final course which students use to demonstrate all that they have learned in one final all-encapsulating project in their senior year. This senior project allows students to show the skills they have learned over the past four years and put them all into one project.

As an Interactive Designer at Maryville University, my capstone is a semester-long class followed up by a senior seminar which both help me to prepare to share my work and promote my design skills. During this process, students develop a concept of something they would like to create and then do the researching, designing, coding, testing, and reflecting to bring it to life. We share and discuss our ideas with the class to get feedback during critiques and keep refining the work until the final product and presentation are complete. Then we present our work for a formal review by design professionals. Finally, we show our work at a public exhibition we call the Senior Show.
